Workflows

Workflows are primarily used to define the publication procedures within a content management system. But they can also be used to define governance and content management processes.

Publication Workflows: These are visual depictions of the content authoring processes within a particular content management system environment. They help the technical teams build the security/permissions model, the actual content management system workflows and associated notifications.

Typical format: Microsoft Visio, Microsoft Word (Overview/Definitions)

Example: Workflows Overview  This provides an overview of workflows and details specific roles and responsibilities.

Example: Web Page Publication

Example: Image and Video Content

Governance Workflows: These are also visual depictions, but of overall content management or governance processes.

Example: New Template or Component

Example: Taxonomy Change
